AC MILAN v PARMA: MATCH PREVIEW

The Rossoneri host Parma for what will be a crucial clash in Serie A

AC Milan are preparing to face Parma on Matchday 26 of Serie A, scheduled for Sunday 22 February at 18:00 CET at San Siro. Allegri’s side are seeking valuable points to consolidate second place in the table, while Carlos Cuesta’s Parma will look to withstand the Rossoneri’s attacking threat and improve their own position. With both teams eager for a positive result, an action-packed challenge is expected. Here is our Match Preview ahead of kick-off.

FROM MILANELLO
AC Milan approach the fixture following a 1-1 draw against Como in Wednesday’s rescheduled clash at San Siro. The Rossoneri fought back through Leão’s goal, narrowly missing out on victory but extending their unbeaten league run to 24 matches. Against Como, Allegri’s men showed defensive solidity and the ability to create chances – qualities that will be essential against Parma. Rabiot returns after his red card in Pisa but, like Fofana and Athekame, must manage suspension risk. Pavlović is available despite the heavy knock suffered against Como, while Gimenez will miss out; the remainder of the squad is fit.

Allegri said in his pre-match press conference: “Matches are becoming increasingly important. Parma are doing very well, they are organised defensively and have technical players. We must show great respect for our opponents, as well as order and compactness. Winning will not be simple. We need to collect as many points as possible to secure Champions League qualification. We work and play hard, while ensuring we do not waste energy. To the fans, I ask them to continue supporting us in the way that they have done so far.”

THE OPPOSITION
Parma
arrive at San Siro following a 2-1 victory over Hellas Verona (secured in stoppage time), a result that has provided breathing space above the relegation zone. Carlos Cuesta’s side have shown significant improvement, particularly in their attacking output. Despite some away difficulties, Parma have proven competitive and will look to capitalise on any opportunity. Circati is suspended, while Britschgi, Delprato, Nicolussi Caviglia and Valenti are one booking away from suspension.

Cuesta said on the eve of the match: “We must give our best, playing with balance but with the belief that we can come back from San Siro with points. We need to approach the game with maximum concentration.”
