It was another night of joy and another prestigious victory, as Juventus were the latest victims to be beaten this season at San Siro, after Inter. AC Milan deserved their 2-0 win, courtesy of a first-half stoppage time goal from Tomori and Diaz's finish shortly after the restart. It was a convincing team performance, who were stung after their midweek Champions League defeat, and who wanted to remain in the upper echelons of the table. Here are the main stats coming from our big match on matchday 9:
- AC Milan have beaten both Juventus and Inter before Serie A’s Matchday 10 for the second time in their history, after 1970/71.
- Tomori has scored both of his two Serie A goals against Juventus: he is one of three English players to have scored more than one goal against Juventus in the competition. The others are Gerald Hitchens (three) and Tammy Abraham (two). Among the players to have scored 100% of their Serie A goals against Juventus, Fikayo Tomori is one of three players to have found the net more than once against the Bianconeri (two, along with Luigi Carello and Francesco Duzioni).
- Juventus are the only opponent against whom Díaz has scored more than one goal in Serie A (two). Brahim is also one of three Spanish players to have scored more than one goal against Juventus in the league, alongside Luis Suarez (three) and José Callejón (three).
- Olivier Giroud played his 50th match with AC Milan in all competitions: he has scored the most goals (19) among the Rossoneri since his debut with the team last season.
- The Rossoneri's 21 attempts at goal is a negative record for the Bianconeri in a single game in Serie A this season.
