JUVENTUS v AC MILAN: FUN FACTS

The main stats on the eve of the trip to Turin

Coach Pioli's Rossoneri are set to face Allegri's Juventus. The season is nearing its conclusion, and, on matchday 37 in Serie A, three very important points are at stake in the race for the top four. After their 2-0 win at San Siro in the reverse fixture, the Diavolo want to come away with another victory, this time in Turin. Ahead of Juventus v AC Milan, which will kick off at 20:45 CEST on Sunday 28 May, we’re taking a look at all the numbers and fun facts.

PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS
AC Milan are the team that have recorded the most wins against Juventus in Serie A history (52). They're also the side the Bianconeri have played out the most draws against in the Italian top flight (56). Juventus and AC Milan will be facing each other on 28 May, exactly 20 years on from the 2003 Champions League final in Manchester, where the Rossoneri lifted the trophy after a penalty shootout victory.

POSITIVE TRENDS
After beating the Bianconeri earlier on in the season, AC Milan could win both league clashes against Juventus in a single season for the third time in the last 50 years; they previously did so in 2009/10 and 1990/91. The Diavolo have kept clean sheets in their last two Serie A fixtures against Juventus; only once in history have they recorded more successive shutouts against the Bianconeri (four between 1988 and 1989). Furthermore, AC Milan are undefeated in their last four encounters with Juventus in the Italian top flight (W2, D2). The Rossoneri last went on a longer unbeaten run against their next opponents between 1990 and 1992 (five games).

CURRENT FORM
Since the start of April, only Monza (18) have picked up more points than AC Milan in Serie A (16 in nine matches). In the same period, the Rossoneri have conceded the fewest goals in the division (six). After getting the better of Sampdoria last time out, AC Milan could win two consecutive league matches for the first time since they beat Torino, Monza and Atalanta in February.

GOALS
Only Roma have scored more stoppage-time goals (seven) than AC Milan and Juventus (six each) during the 2022/23 Serie A campaign. The match in Turin will pit the team that have scored the second-most goals in the final 30 minutes of play (AC Milan, 25, behind Napoli with 32) against the side that have shipped the fewest in the same time frame (Juventus, seven). Only Atalanta (18) and Napoli (17) have had more players find the net than Juventus and AC Milan this Serie A season (16 for both).

POTENTIAL PROTAGONISTS
Only Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (ten) has provided more assists than Rafael Leão and Filip Kostić (eight) during the current campaign. Since his arrival at AC Milan (from 2019/20), Ante Rebić has scored four goals against Juventus in all competitions; there isn't a Rossonero who has done better in this regard. Fikayo Tomori has scored twice in Serie A and both goals were against Juventus; together with Gerald Hitchens (three) and Tammy Abraham (two), he's one of three English players who have bagged more than once against the Bianconeri in the Italian top flight. Brahim Díaz, meanwhile, is one of three Spanish players to have found the net more than once against Juventus in Serie A (two). He's joined by Luis Suarez and José Callejón (three each) on this particular list.

FORMER SIDES
Massimiliano Allegri took charge of 133 AC Milan matches in Serie A, winning 74, drawing 34 and losing 25. As for Stefano Pioli, he played for the Bianconeri for three seasons between 1984/85 and 1986/87. As a coach, the current Rossoneri boss is currently unbeaten in five matches against Juventus (W3, D2).
