ROSSONERE DEFEAT IN DERBY

A tough day. Inter were victorious in the hotly-anticipated December Derby at Vismara as the guests ran out 3-0 winners over Ganz's girls, scoring all three of their goals in the first half an out. The Rossonere tried to react in the second half, testing goalkeeper Durante on numerous occasions, but the scoreline remained unchanged. Despite starting the game strongly, it was the second defeat of the season for AC Milan, who remain in third place in the table.
Next up for the Rossonere are two very important fixtures, with which to end 2021 on a high: next Sunday, the girone d'andata comes to a close as the Rossenere travel to take on Juventus before a crucial Coppa Italia clash with Hellas Verona on Friday 17th.

AC Milan started with two important returnees in Thrige and Jane and the Rossonere started well, threatening especially through Thomas. But it was Inter who took the lead in the 13th minute: Karchouni's corner, Kathellen's header. The Rossonere looked for an instant reply and went close through a corner-cum-shot from Jane (25') but, two minutes later, Inter made it two through Ajara Njoya, who rifled an unstoppable effort past Giuliani. Two quickly became three as, in the 32nd minute, Adami conceded a penalty, which Karchouni converted to make it 3-0. In the 34th minute, Durante denied Giacinti, who also hit the crossbar with one minute of normal time left in the first half.
After a chance just after the break for Marinelli - who fired just wide - the Rossonere looked to pull one back and, in the 55th minute, Durante produced two reflex saves to deny Giacinti and then Thrige. Thomas was then denied by the Nerazzurri 'keeper before the tempo of the game dipped. In the 73rd minute, Inter went close to a fourth through Bonetti. As the game drew to a close, AC Milan had plenty of possession but couldn't carve out any meaningful opportunities. It ended 3-0.
