WOMEN, INTER v AC MILAN: MATCH PREVIEW

High-stakes derby for the Rossonere: our guide to tomorrow's clash

The Women's Serie A is back after the break and for Ganz's girls it's derby time. AC Milan want to take advantage of their improving form, which has resulted in a streak of three consecutive victories, to stun the first-placed Nerazzurre and reduce the gap with the top of the table, continuing a trend that sees the Rossonere always winning on the turf of their city rivals. In our Match Preview we present all the day's topics.

LATEST FROM PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
The Rossonere arrive at the first break of the season motivated by their victories over Parma and Sampdoria, and determined to meet their next opponent, rivals Inter and Juventus one after the other. Kosovare Asllani, with three goals in the last two matches, and Kamila Dubcová, 2 assists and a goal in the same timeframe, have risen through the ranks and are ready to take the team by the reigns. Bergamaschi and Thrige will not fail to contribute on the wings, which is crucial for the team that has scored the most goals from crosses: four, including each of their last three.

Here's the AC Milan squad: Babb, Beka, Giuliani; Árnadóttir, Carage, Fusetti, Mesjasz, Soffia, Thrige, Tucceri Cimini; Adami, Cesarini, K. Dubcová, Donolato, Grimshaw; Asllani, Bergamaschi, M. Dubcová, Piemonte, Thomas.

"A very passionate derby awaits us, there is enthusiasm on both sides and there will be a lot of spectators," Coach Ganz commented on the eve of the match. "We hope for a great match from both teams.

LATEST FROM INTER
It was a convincing start to the season for Coach Rita Guarino's girls, unbeaten at the top of the table, one point ahead of Roma and Fiorentina and 18 goals to their name, four more than Juventus. The Nerazzurre, after snatching a draw against reigning champions Juventus, recorded three wins in a row against Pomigliano, Sampdoria and Como, scoring eleven goals and conceding two. Elisa Polli, the top scorer of this championship with five goals, will be the special target of the AC Milan defence along with Chawinga and Karchouni.

PRE-MATCH
The history of derbies in the Women's Serie A is dominated by the Rossonere interrupted only once by an external blow from their rivals: Inter have in fact lost five of their six league matches against AC Milan; only against Juventus have the Nerazzurre recorded more defeats. The Rossonere have also scored more goals at home than Inter in the league (10), with an average of at least three per match. The derby could provide the setting for a special milestone for our club: at 197, we are close to 200 goals scored in Serie A.
