Protecting third place, that is the goal of the Rossoneri in the final matchday of the Serie A Femminile. To do so, they will need to win or at least draw in Florence to keep Fiorentina behind in the standings. On the eve of Fiorentina vs AC Milan, we approach matchday 7 of the Championship round:
LATEST FROM THE PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
AC Milan arrive from the spectacular home draw against Juventus, a 3-3 draw in a comeback, to be appreciated for the spirit put on the field by the team. There have been days of intense work at the PUMA House of Football: there will be several absences in the Tuscan away match, especially in defence: Nouwen, Árnadóttir and Mesjasz will not be in the match. The attacking danger will continue to rest on the shoulders of striker Piemonte (ex of the day), also underlining the Vigilucci factor, four goals from the start of the Championship and Relegation Round: no player boasts more goals in the period.
Here is the Rossonere squad list: Babb, Cazzioli, Fedele, Giuliani; Carage, Fusetti, Soffia, Sorelli, Thrige; Adami, Bahlouli, K. Dubcová, Grimshaw, Mascarello, Vigilucci; Bergamaschi, Dompig, M. Dubcová, Piemonte, Sevenius, Thomas.
Coach Ganz had this to say the day before: "We are in an emergency but we will grit our teeth to put on a great match against Fiorentina and the next two games. It will not be easy but we will give our best".
LATEST FROM FIORENTINA
Fiorentina is going through a negative period, having suffered a double defeat to Juventus and Roma. A victory has been missing for more than a month, in general it was from February onwards that the pace has slowed down: among the participants in the Championship round, the Viola is the one that has conceded the most goals (44, at least five more than any other), in general only Parma (50) and Sampdoria (46) have a worse defence. Beware of the dangers Hammarlund and Kaján, as well as the crucial leadership of Vero (former player, a penalty double in the first leg in March); Eržen's absence due to disqualification should be noted.
"It is an important match for third place," Panico said, "we have all the cards in order to fight for this goal. The best formation will take the field, I know I can count on a united group that will give 100%".
