WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND, AC MILAN v ROMA PREVIEW

The talking points from the final game of the season at the PUMA House of Football

AC Milan and Roma meet for the sixth time this season. The occasion is matchday 8 in the Champions Round of Women's Serie A and the Rossonere's final home fixture of the season. Against champions Roma, AC Milan have one final chance in 2022/23 to delight their fans at the PUMA House of Football. Let's get in the mood for the game with our Match Preview:

LATEST FROM PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
The Rossonere have worked hard throughout the week following a run that has seen them without a defeat in their last three matches - against Inter Juventus and Fiorentina. Ganz's side are still in third place and want to equal their final standing from last season, which would be an achievement given the ever-increasing standard of the women's game in Italy. Their last game in the league saw the Rossonere lose Selena Babb to injury, who joined Árnadóttir, Asllani, Mesjasz and Nouwen on the list of absentees. Adami is the only player cautioned, so Ganz could go with the same starting eleven from the Fiorentina game, with Dompig and Piemonte up top.

The Rossonere's squad list: Beka, Cazzioli, Fedele, Giuliani; Carage, Fusetti, Soffia, Thrige; Adami, Bahlouli, K. Dubcová, Grimshaw, Mascarello, Renzotti, Vigilucci; Bergamaschi, Dompig, M. Dubcová, Piemonte, Sevenius, Thomas.

Coach Ganz on the eve of the game: "We've got some players out but we want to compete. We're playing in another big game; we've tried to prepare as best we can to be ready. We'll go out there and give our all for another full ninety minutes: Roma and Inter are two games where we'll have to fight hard to get the result we want."

LATEST FROM ROMA
The trip to Milan is Roma's first game since their historic title win, which they wrapped up at the Stadio Tre Fontane against Fiorentina on 29 April. The Giallorosse have celebrated this triumph since then and could rotate heavily for their three remaining league games. Roma have switched between two formations for the Championship Round: an attacking 4-4-2 and a more balanced 4-2-3-1. The latter was deployed in the aforementioned Fiorentina game, which saw the involvement of three former Rossonere in Caesar, Giugliano and Giacinti.

Alessandro Spugna also spoke ahead of the game: "It was right that we celebrated a little, but we now need to focus on these final few games of the season in order to lead into the Coppa Italia final in the best way. The aim is to get everyone in the best shape possible for 4 June."

PRE-MATCH
This will be the twelfth meeting between AC Milan and Roma in Women's Serie A. The Rossonere have won five, lost three and drawn three, though all the Giallorosse's positive results have come within the last six meetings. Ganz's side will try to avenge the defeat on 4 December, the Rossonere's only home defeat in the league, and try to holt the champions' run of 11 straight victories. AC Milan has scored the most goals from dead ball situations in the league this season (17, at least four more than any other side). In Marta Mascarello and Kamila Dubcová they also have two players with at least five assists in the competition.

WHERE TO WATCH AC MILAN ON TV
AC Milan v Roma will be broadcast live in Italy on Saturday 13 May at 14:30 CEST on La7, TIMVision and Milan TV. Don't miss the coverage on acmilan.com, the Rossoneri's official social channels and the AC Milan Official App where, from the following day, the full deferred broadcast will also be available on demand.

LATEST FROM THE WOMEN'S SERIE A
Alfredo Iannello will referee the game, assisted by Pelosia and Mastrosimone as linesmen and Toselli as fourth official.

Two games on matchday 8 in the Championship Round will kick off at the same time: AC Milan v Roma and Inter v Fiorentina will both start at 14:30 CEST. Juventus have a bye week.

The current standings: Roma* 63; Juventus 51; Milan 40; Fiorentina 39; Inter* 36. (* = game in hand)
