It's the last matchday of the 2023/24 Women's Serie A season. All verdicts have already been issued, the curtain begins to fall on the sporting year of Corti's Rossonere but first, there remains one last match to honour and try to win for many reasons. To achieve another victory, to make the PUMA House of Football crowd cheer once again, to bid farewell and pay tribute to a leader like Laura Fusetti and much more. The top spot has been archived for some time now, but the Rossonere don't want to stop just yet. Let's get closer to AC Milan v Sampdoria with our Match Preview.

LATEST FROM THE PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
The Rossonere host Sampdoria aiming to make it ten games without defeat and to close the second phase of the season with zero losses. It's a match to honour by giving their all and an important appointment to bid farewell to a key figure, both on and off the field. Laura Fusetti, who has worn this shirt since the Club's first day, will play her last game with AC Milan and bid farewell to the Rossoneri fans. Emotion will be high, as well as the gratitude of all supporters. Returning to the field, the previous encounters against the Blucerchiate this season have been positive, with two away victories and a home draw (1-1) completing the tally. The last step remains to finish on a high.

The Rossonere squad list: Babb, Copetti, Giuliani; Bergamaschi, Fusetti, Guagni, Mesjasz, Piga, Soffia; Cernoia, Cesarini, Dubcová, Rubio Ávila; Arrigoni, Asllani, Dompig, Ijeh, Laurent, Marinelli, Mikulica, Renzotti.

"We will try to finish the season in the best possible way", commented Corti. "This final game must be honoured.  We're playing at home, and the objective is always to win while trying to play a good match. Laura Fusetti is a symbol in many respects, both as a player and as a person. She is a tremendous example to emulate, a serious professional and will certainly leave a lasting memory for all those who have had the fortune to work with her".

    LATEST FROM SAMPDORIA
The victory against Napoli in the most recent match (2-0) halted a difficult period, consisting of four winless games, but the Poule had started on the right foot. Two victories in the opening matches before the Blucerchiate slowed down once they reached the safety objective. The Blucerchiati will finish in third place, behind AC Milan and Como, but can be satisfied with the 28 points obtained so far, seven more than last season. Beating the Rossonere would be the icing on the cake, and to do so, Gian Loris Rossi's team - coach since the beginning of April after replacing Mango - will call on their best eleven. All eyes will be on the talent of Tori DellaPeruta, a forward born in 2004 close to reaching double-digit goals.

    PRE-MATCH STATS

    • AC Milan have scored at least three goals in four of the seven previous encounters against Sampdoria in Serie A, including the two most recent ones, ending 3-1. Only against Pink Bari and Inter (five) the Rossonere have played more matches with more than two goals in the top league.
    • No team has scored more goals from crosses in this Serie A than the Rossonere (10, tied with Juventus and Roma). Only Pomigliano (18), Como (nine), and Napoli (eight) have conceded more goals from crosses than Sampdoria in the tournament (seven), two of which were against AC Milan, scored by Ijeh and Dompig in February and April.
    • AC Milan and Sampdoria, along with Roma, are two of the three teams in this Serie A that have two defenders with more than one goal each. For the Rossonere, Valentina Bergamaschi and Małgorzata Mesjasz (both with two goals), and for the Blucerchiate, Michela Giordano and Aurora De Rita (both with two goals each).
