The Rossonere suffer a cruel 2-1 defeat at home to Roma in the final minutes. The afternoon had seemed to be going smoothly after de Sanders' excellent goal in the 76th minute, but the Giallorosse managed to equalise and then snatch the victory in stoppage time. At one point, even a draw would have left the Rossonere feeling regretful. All the more reason why the loss felt bitter. Perhaps a draw would have been the fair result, considering how tightly contested the match was until the one hour mark. In the end, the final moments decided the game a shame, but the team moves forward.

A frustrating scoreline with missed chances in the first half from Ijeh and Arrigoni, conceding the equaliser at a crucial moment, ultimately succumbing to a strong, but not outstanding, opponent. This is their first defeat in Serie A Women after a positive debut against Genoa - a minor setback early in the season, part of the team's development. After matchday two, Coach Bakker's side remains on three points (three behind the leaders). The league now takes a break, with the next match scheduled for Saturday, October 18: AC Milan v Fiorentina, 15:00 CEST, at Viola Park.

    MATCH REPORT
AC Milan started well, although the first real chance came from Pandini in the 7th minute with a powerful shot just off target. In the 11th minute, Arrigoni was blocked in the area, and in the 20th minute, Dompig missed a huge opportunity: she stole the ball from Heatley, found herself one-on-one with Baldi, and shot over the bar. Our goalkeeper had work to do as well, clearing a scramble in the 21st minute and stopping Viens' aerial attempt in the 23rd. At the 37th minute, Piga headed wide, followed shortly by a fine save from de Sanders on Viens. Two great chances came in the 41st: first Arrigoni's shot, then Ijeh's, both saved by Baldi. In the 43rd minute, Corelli had a chance, but it didn’t come to anything.

The second half started quietly, both teams came out well-organised but cautious. Chances were sparse, with attacking runs being cut off or blocked. The Rossonere defended well, and in the 68th minute Ijeh broke forward, looking to set up Dompig, but Thøgersen made a crucial save that kept the score level. The breakthrough finally came in the 76th minute, thanks to de Sanders: from a corner, a short clearance fell to her, and she volleyed beautifully over Corelli and past Baldi. The Giallorosse kept pressing and equalised in the 83rd minute, with Corelli rising early from a corner to head the ball into the near corner. The Rossonere nearly went ahead in the 89th minute when Greggi was clean through, but her shot went just wide. Then, heartbreak in the 91st: Giugliano exchanged with Corelli and curled a right-footed shot along the post to seal the win.
