THE PRIMAVERA BEGIN WITH A DRAW

Coach Giunti's AC Milan Primavera side began their season with a draw: the Rossoneri were held at 1-1 by Spezia at Vismara on the opening day of the Primavera 2 Championship. Emanuele Pecorino's opener from a penalty in the 10th minute was almost immediately cancelled out by Gaddini's decisive tap-in after 18 minutes.
The Rossoneri had a lot of chances and hit the woodwork twice in the first half with Tonin and Barazzetta, as Capanni missed a penalty in the second half and hit the crossbar just minutes later. The opening day of the league thus goes down as one point with a tinge of regret at not having made more of the game: AC Milan Primavera now start their preparation for their next fixture, which comes away to Pordenone.
MATCH REPORT
The Rossoneri took the lead straight away after Emanuele Pecorino both won and converted a penalty. Spezia then drew back level in the 18th minute after a slicing counterattack which resulted in a tap-in for Gaddini, with Milan’s Tonin having struck the post just moments before. Coach Giunti’s side then hit the woodwork once more, this time with Barazzetta’s effort not quite sticking.
Coach Giunti lost Daniel Maldini to injury in the 37th minute, who was replaced by Mionić off the bench. Milan also started the second half with an immediate change, Luan Capanni coming on for Pecorino. Frigerio threatened in the 47th minute, but the real opportunity came to Capanni in the 77th: another penalty kick for the Rossoneri, but the Brazilian was outdone by keeper Barone. Luan himself then hit a crossbar just a few minutes later, which presented the final chance of the afternoon.
