CITTADELLA HOLD THE PRIMAVERA SIDE TO A DRAW

Following three consecutive wins (including one in the Coppa Italia), AC Milan Primavera were held to a second draw of the season and the first on the road at the Stadio Tombolato in Cittadella. In good form, the hosts managed to hold Milan to a 1-1 scoreline. The Rossoneri deservedly took the league through Olzer only to concede an equaliser soon after. There were more chances in the second half but unfortunately, no goals. It’s not a brilliant result for Giunti’s side who could have gone clear at the top of the table with a win. After four matches, the Diavolo remain joint-second on eight points. Primavera 2 is now on pause for the international break and the side will return on 19 October for AC Milan v Cremonese at the Vismara.

A goal apiece and not a huge amount in the way of drama. In the 19th minute, Milan took the lead. Plechero saved the first shot but gave up a rebound from which Olzer made no mistake at close range. In the 23rd minute, the goalkeeper made a great save from a Pecorino header. The lead didn’t last for long though with Del Grosso scoring in the 25th minute. In the second half, Milan looked to exploit the flanks. In the 49th minute Tonin played in a dangerous low ball from the left but nobody could get onto it in the middle. In the 75th minute, Barazzetta got away on the right and played a good cross but Sala couldn’t reach it. Tonin had a go in the 78th minute but it was inaccurate. The Rossoneri kept going but couldn’t find a winner with Sala going just wide late on.
