Federico Giunti’s Primavera side continued their unstoppable march as the Rossoneri recorded their seventh win in a row, this time away to the team third in the table as they triumphed 2-1 over Udinese with goals from Maldini and Capanni. It was a deserved win at the end of a game managed with absolute authority by the Rossoneri, who created plenty of chances and struck in the most vital moments: at the end of the first half and the beginning of the second. Another positive was Mattia Caldara’s strong 90 minutes, with our defender finally looking back to full fitness. Milan consolidate top spot of the Primavera 2 division with this result, sitting on 29 points, seven clear of Verona in second place whose next game comes away to Venezia in their Derby. Coach Giunti’s side’s next fixture comes on Saturday 14 December, as they face Spezia at home for their final game of the calendar year.
MATCH REPORT
The game at the Olivo Training Centre in Manzano got off to a slow start, with both sides struggling to create anything of note. The first chance fell to the Friulians in the 31st minute, with Ianesi’s shot on the turn from the edge of the area calling Soncin into action. The Rossoneri then made an immediate response, Daniel Maldini making the most of a defensive error to tuck the ball into the net and put his side in front. The goal really injected life into the game, with the Rossoneri then coming close to a second as Pecorino’s header flew just wide of the target. But it wasn’t long before another chance came, and this time it was Capanni who made no mistake, tapping in Pecorino’s left-footed effort. Udinese however showed no signs of giving up and found their way back into the game in the 51st minute, Compagnon beating the goalkeeper with an excellent finish on the turn. Despite the scare, the Rossoneri managed the game excellently, keeping the ball and seeing out the win as it finished 2-1 to Milan at the Olivo Training Centre in Manzano.
