Coach Giunti’s side made no mistake as they triumphed 2-0 over Venezia in Chioggia. It was very much a one-sided match, the Rossoneri breaking through twice in the second half despite plenty of chances throughout. Two efforts that hit the post, two goals and one missed penalty: this sums up AC Milan’s dominance perfectly as they took home all three points thanks to Daniel Maldini’s double, the young striker increasingly finding his form in the side. A big win that keeps the Rossoneri at the top of the table on 38 points, attentions now turning to the Primavera TIM Cup quarter-final away to Fiorentina at 14:30 CET on Wednesday 29 January.

    MATCH REPORT
AC Milan started stronger and were in hot pursuit of an opener right away as Daniel Maldini fired his shot over the bar in the 8th minute. The next chance came in the 27th minute as Olzer’s header struck the woodwork. Venezia did come back with a response of their own, Rossi bursting through and smashing the ball against the outside of the post from a tight angle. With this scare behind them, Giunti’s boys re-established their hold on the game with another great chances after 36 minutes, with Sala this time striking the post. All these missed chances led to some frustration, but the Rossoneri never gave up and their time arrived in the 51st minute: Tonin was struck down by Caradonna in the box and the referee blew for a penalty. Up stepped Maldini and he made no mistake from twelve yards. Tonin won yet another penalty just minutes later, this time the Venezia goalkeeper having been at fault for the foul. Brescianini opted to take but fired his shot over the crossbar. This didn’t distract Milan’s focus however, Giunti’s boys continuing their search for a second and finding it in minute 65: Stanga crossed it in and Daniel Maldini slotted home to make it 2-0 at full-time.
