AC Milan’s run in the Primavera TIM Cup 2019/20 came to an end in the quarter-finals as Coach Giunti’s boys fell to a 3-1 away defeat to Bigica’s Fiorentina. The Rossoneri paid the price in Florence, but will now place all of their efforts into achieving their main goal for the season: returning to Primavera 1. There’s no time to dwell on this defeat, as Brescianini and his teammates return to action this weekend with Cittadella visiting Vismara on Saturday.

    MATCH REPORT
A fast start from the Rossoneri as they started the game at the Stadio Franchi with great character. Mionić rocketed off a shot after just five minutes but Chiorra did well to parry it out for a corner. Just minutes later Milan were back on the front foot, this time coming close through Merletti’s effort from a corner. However, the Viola managed to break through with their first attempt: Pierozzi’s cross into the middle was headed in at the back post by Lovisa, beating Soncin and making it 1-0 to the home side. The goal sparked the Rossoneri into life and Milan came close to pulling one back through Capanni in the 51st minute. But the game was end-to-end, and just minutes later Bianco was felled by Brescianini in the Rossoneri box, Beloko subsequently sending Soncin the wrong way to make it 2-0. Heads didn’t drop and Merletti tapped home Maldini’s headed assist to cut the deficit in minute 61, the Rossoneri pushing for the goal that would really get them back in the game. However, this never arrived and Fruk’s precise free kick killed off all hope to make it 3-1 at full-time.
