PRIMAVERA END THE SEASON WITH A 0-0 DRAW

Goalless against Sassuolo in the campaign's final fixture at PUMA House of Football

A performance that was better than the result. A tough season for AC Milan's Primavera has concluded at the PUMA House of Football with a 0-0 draw against Sassuolo, in a game with few chances but pleasing to watch nonetheless. Both sides created very little in, but it left some important signs for next season: most importantly, Abate's side has got better as the season has gone on and have also ended the season in a strong, physical condition.

The Rossoneri's campaign ends with them on 45 points, after also having a terrific run in the Youth League. The 2022/23 season will go down as a positive one for this very young group of players, who have achieved some great results, like reaching the European semi-finals. Moving forward, the core of this group will certainly be the one to start off the new year, but it's now time for a well-earned rest before heading into the 2023/24 season.

MATCH REPORT
AC Milan had all of the ball, but in the first few minutes they barely got a shot off. Cuenca was always in the thick of the action and, in the 14th minute, came close to taking the lead, hitting a left-footed volley without finding the goal. A little later, in the 18th minute, Bozzolan received from Cuenca, shooting wide from the edge of the area. In the 44th minute, Sassuolo ahad a chance with D'Andrea's right-footer going just wide. At the end of the half, there was a great chance for Longhi, who was fed by Traorè but closed down at the last minute by the Neraverdi defence.

The second half began with no changes but in the same fashion, AC Milan with the ball, and after five minutes of play, Chaka combined with Cuenca saw a shot parried by Theiner. El Hilali came on and AC Milan again looked dangerous, with the number 10 coming close with a shot from Bozzolan’s cross. The pace dropped in the final few minutes, and in the 77th minute Chaka almost got a shot away but was denied from close range. The match seemed destined for 0-0 and Bartoccioni made sure it would stay that way with a good stop: the Rossoneri goalkeeper made a great serve from a header right at the death.
