After two matches without a win, Milan Primavera picked up three points on matchday 27 thanks to a 2-1 victory over Atalanta. The Rossoneri scored once in each half - Ossola in the opening 45, Ibrahimović after the restart - before the visitors pulled one back through Ramaj. Guidi’s side finished the match with ten men following Parmiggiani’s sending-off (two yellow cards) but managed to emerged victorious, with Longoni producing some solid goalkeeping between the sticks. Today’s result means we have consolidated our position in the table, extending our lead over Juventus and Lazio.

It represents a significant victory after a mature display full of character. It was a slow start to the match, but the Rossoneri opened the scoring with their first chance. Then, in the second half, our lads displayed a bit of ruthlessness, doubling their advantage just as the Orobici were enjoying their best spell of the game. This result will provide a real confidence boost for the Diavolo, who continue to enjoy an excellent season and have finished February on a high. The team will return to action next month: up next is a trip to Verona at 11:00 CET on Sunday 2 March. Forza Milan!

    MATCH REPORT
It was a slow start to proceedings at the PUMA House of Football. Most notably, the first 20 minutes saw captain Victor pick up an injury (he was replaced by Ossola) and Turco and Bonanomi threaten at either end. Hodzic had an acrobatic effort in the 20th minute, but he failed to direct the ball on target. Shortly afterwards, Pardel comfortably saved a shot from Bonomi. Almost out of nowhere, Ossola then gave the Rossoneri the lead with a powerful strike from the edge of the box. Paloschi made a great intervention from a low Atalanta cross in the 32nd minute, and, in general, Guidi’s side were controlling things well without any real problems.

The visitors took the game to the Diavolo at the start of the second half. After a couple of shots had been blocked by the Rossoneri defence, Longoni thwarted Bonanomi in the 52nd minute. Just as Atalanta were enjoying their best spell, AC Milan doubled their lead as Maxi Ibrahimović converted a cross from Bonomi on the counter. The Orobici didn’t give up and reduced the arrears in the 64th minute through a powerful strike from Ramaj. The match remained a lively affair, even if real goalscoring chances were few and far between. There was a scare in the 82nd minute as Tavanti narrowly failed to connect with Fiogbe’s strike across goal. Paloschi had a go after 87 minutes, but his attempt finished narrowly over the bar. With the clock ticking down, Parmiggiani was given a second yellow card, but the Rossoneri saw the game out to win!
