SCOTTI EARNS US A DRAW AGAINST FROSINONE: 1-1 PRIMAVERA

It was a deserved point, earned right at the death. It was a difficult game, in which we went behind midway through the first half and failed to show what we were capable of until the last half hour. AC Milan's Primavera came back against Frosinone to draw 1-1 at the Piola stadium in Novara thanks to Scotti. It was the Rossoneri's first draw of the season. They were a challenging opponent, and the afternoon didn't start well but the team got what they deserved for their reaction and drive shown after the break.

It threatened to not be our day, with Colley's goal and a general underwhelming performance, and Lontani showing great promise without much luck. However, the second half was largely positive in terms of attitude and, right at the end, Scotti made the difference, winning a penalty and then converting from the spot. The Primavera are now on 7 points, taking up ninth place in the table, and remaining in the fight for the play-off zone (just one point off) and for the title (four points off). Next time out, Il Diavolo will face Cremona on Saturday 27 September at 13:00 CEST.

MATCH REPORT
Frosinone were aggressive right from the start and called Longoni into action early on: in the 7th minute, he denied Ceesay before then pushing away Befani's effort in the 10th minute. The Rossoneri reacted: in the 12th minute, Lontani had a chance, and in the 14th minute, no-one could get on the end of Nolli's cross. In the 23rd minute, the hosts got in front: Longoni's clearance was poor and didn't get past Colley who composed himself and finished on the volley. Colley then had another chance in the 35th minute, shooting wide, before then blocking Lontani's free-kick in the 37th minute. Cichero then came very close in the 44th minute, seeing his shot drift just wide of the post. We lifted ourselves back up, and in added time, Castiello wasted a great chance, seeing his effort denied by Minicangeli.

AC Milan began the half nice and determined. In the 50th minute, the keeper's poor goal-kick didn't quite present an opportunity to Scotti, and in the 53rd minute, Perera's header from a corner was too weak. In the 57th minute,  Colley had another chance, but to no avail. Lontani then set up another chance: in the 58th minute, he put it into the box, but Scotti couldn't get on the end of it with the goal gaping. In the 60th minute, Minicangeli had to react to a powerful strike. After Befani's wild effort, we kept hunting down an equaliser: in the 67th minute, Lontani put in a low cross but the Gialloblù were able to clear. In the 71st minute, Castiello's shot from the edge of the box was off target. In added time, Scotti had a huge chance, but he couldn't keep his effort down. And then, when it seemed over, in the 95th minute, Scotti fashioned the equaliser: he got the wrong side of Cesari who brought him down in the box and gave away a penalty. He stepped up, and beat Minicangeli.
