What remains when the noise fades and we begin to listen to ourselves?
On World Mental Health Day, AC Milan presents The Chamber, a new original series that draws on athletes' experiences to spark a conversation about mental wellbeing. Sports teach us that, like the body, the mind is built and trained over time. Those who compete at the highest level live this every day, learning to better understand themselves, grow, and navigate pressure, expectations, and difficult moments. It is a subject that resonates with everyone, starting with young people.
That is where The Chamber begins: an experience as simple as it is radical, which reduces external noise to a minimum to leave space for listening to oneself. Inside a semi-anechoic chamber, participants remain alone with their breathing, heartbeat, and thoughts. When they emerge, journalist, author, and podcast host Luca Casadei guides each of them through an open conversation that begins with what they just experienced in the chamber and makes room for more personal reflections.
The series opens with Luka Modrić, who talks about his relationship with pressure and expectations and how he has learned to find his own balance over time. He will be followed by Kay-Lee de Sanders, Matteo Gabbia, Mario Gila, Yunus Musah, Filippo Plazzotta, Nadine Sorelli, and Paralympian Simone Barlaam, each with a different story and perspective.
Supporting young people in building confidence, resilience, and self-awareness means helping them grow and face future challenges. This approach has long been at the heart of Fondazione Milan's work, which uses sports as a tool for social change and youth development. Today, that commitment focuses specifically on mental wellbeing, one of the most pressing challenges facing young people, and promotes a more proactive approach: building and strengthening mental wellbeing over time, not only stepping in during moments of difficulty.
In September, for the first time, Fondazione Milan dedicated its space on the back of the Club's European competition shirt, produced in collaboration with the Club's Technical Partner PUMA, to another organization, The Madhappy Foundation. The move brought the topic of mental wellbeing to a global audience, with the support of UEFA. The journey will continue throughout the season with new projects, initiatives, and awareness campaigns focused on this issue.
The first episode of The Chamber is available starting today on YouTube, on AC Milan's official website, and in the official AC Milan app.
