AMORIM: "A SPECIAL DERBY, WE'LL GIVE IT OUR ALL"

It’s derby time! Following the defeat to Bologna, AC Milan is preparing for one of the most anticipated fixtures of the season, AC Milan vs. Inter, at San Siro on Matchday 10 of Serie A. It's a special occasion, rich in history and significance, and one that Rúben Amorim addressed at his 2:00 PM CET press conference, streamed on YouTube, the AC Milan Official App, and Milan TV.

THE BUILDUP TO THE DERBY
"It's a special match, a unique rivalry between two great teams from the same city who share the same stadium. We know how important this fixture is, and we have a responsibility to win. When you play matches like these, the circumstances and fatigue don’t matter. You have to step onto the pitch and give it your all, and that’s exactly what we'll do. Inter is a team that can play with its eyes closed. Even when it changes players, it always knows what to do. It has an outstanding ability to read the different phases of a match, thanks to its experience and the many successes it has enjoyed. Inter has plenty of talent, but we’re here to fight and we’ll be ready. We were very angry after Bologna, but today I saw a team completely focused on the derby, fully committed to the technical and tactical work and aware of what it needs to do on the pitch."

INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS AND INJURY UPDATES
"Moreira, Gila, and Rabiot are ready to return to training with the team. We'll assess tomorrow whether they can start. Ramos could be the man for the derby. The difficulties he's facing are mainly down to the team. We control matches well, but we play too far from the opposition's goal. We need to push higher up the pitch and spend more time in the final third to allow him to show his qualities. He's already proved that he can decide a match at any moment. Cisse is a young player we want to invest in, but we need to manage him carefully, given his ongoing groin problems and the significant injuries he's suffered over the past year. As for injuries, I'm responsible for managing the players' workloads. There are situations in which we're forced to take risks, also taking the players' medical histories into account."

THE TEAM'S PROGRESS
"We need to develop the maturity required to control matches and manage their different phases. We lost our composure and changed our positions on the pitch against Bologna after the score reached 3-2, even though we still had plenty of time to get back into the game. These are details we need to correct, along with our ability to maintain consistency over the full 90 minutes. Sometimes we start well and then drop off; other times, we grow into the match. The busy schedule and injuries make it difficult to work on these aspects. Building a better team takes time, but we want to win every single match. We know we need to improve day by day, and despite the difficulties, I can guarantee that we will become a great team."
