The Rossoneri are set for another trip away from San Siro as they head to Udine for Serie A Matchday 8. Udinese vs. AC Milan marks our final away fixture of October and offers a great opportunity to secure a positive result and consolidate our position in the Champions League places. Here's everything you need to know ahead of the league clash in our Match Preview.
LATEST FROM MILANELLO
From Thursday to Sunday, the Rossoneri's busy October schedule continues. AC Milan's objective is to bounce back from the defeat at Bournemouth and build on their previous victories over Salzburg and Atalanta. Coach Amorim welcomes back Gonçalo Ramos for the trip to Udine. The Portuguese forward has recovered and is ready to return to action. However, the squad will be without several key players. In addition to those already sidelined, AC Milan will also be missing Mario Gila, Diego Moreira and Adrien Rabiot, who have remained in Lombardy due to muscle fatigue. Their fitness will be reassessed in the coming days, especially with a busy schedule ahead. Following the trip to Udine, the Rossoneri will play four more matches over the next two weeks.
"It wasn't our best night. We need to get back to Milanello and prepare for the next game," said Coach Amorim on Thursday evening. The Rossoneri boss did not hold a pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Udine. "When you lose, you always have to look ahead. We need to review certain aspects of this game to avoid making the same mistakes. Our job is to prepare and make sure we're strong for the next challenge."
LATEST FROM UDINESE
Udinese are going through a difficult period. After a promising start to the season, which saw them collect four points against Como and Monza and advance past Padova and Venezia in the Coppa Italia, the Friulian side have suffered five consecutive league defeats. Their poor run of form, compounded by a 3-0 loss to Lecce last time out, has left Runjaić's team firmly in the relegation zone. In addition to the difficult situation on the pitch, the injury report notes the absence of Zanoli, despite his late appearance as a substitute against the side from Salento. Zaniolo and Abankwah, however, will be available. Bayo and Gueye remain unavailable, while Alaba and Solet are in doubt to feature. The rest of the squad is available to the German coach, who could consider making a few changes to his usual 3-4-2-1 formation.
"I think facing AC Milan will be tough. They have great individual quality and, along with Inter, enjoy more possession than any other team," said Kosta Runjaić in his press conference. "They're near the top of the standings despite their absences, and they have far more strengths than weaknesses. We need to play with the right balance, keep our emotions in check and bring the right intensity and energy onto the field."
