LATEST FROM PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
The Rossonere picked up some encouraging results in their friendlies against Zurich (3-2) and Murcia (3-2 against Arsenal). There is little time to continue finding their feet: AC Milan need to start strongly in a short and fast-paced competition, with the Rossonere eager to get going. As always, the transfer window - which is still open - has brought some changes, including between the posts. AC Milan have made a number of shrewd moves while retaining much of their existing core, including the renewals of Coach Bakker, Estévez and Mascarello. New arrivals include Norwegian forward Sara Kanutte Fornes, American goalkeeper Sally Ann Rainey and Spanish defender Nerea Nevado. Youngsters Bonanomi, Taddei and Vitale have also been promoted to the first team.
"We're really looking forward to play our first official game of the season. Over the past few weeks, we've made great progress as a team. We've grown both on and off the pitch and are ready to turn our preparation into our first competitive game. Together, we want to start the season with great energy", Coach Bakker's words on the eve of the clash.
LATEST FROM COMO WOMEN
In their friendlies, Como Women suffered defeats against Genoa (0-1), Young Boys (1-2) and Juventus (1-2). Como Women have completed several moves as they continue their development, bringing in former AC Milan players Babb and Vigilucci, as well as Simonetti from Italy and Borbye, Nesbeth, Nielsen, Hubaut and Serra from abroad. Capelletti, Pavan, Pinther, Petzelberger, Sagen and Vaitukaitytė have all departed. Last season, Coach Tramezzani's side failed to progress beyond the group stage of the Serie A Women's Cup, while they finished eighth in Serie A Women. Nonetheless, they have historically been a tricky opponent to face.
