He hadn’t scored in the league for almost six months, not since Udinese at San Siro. But Theo Hernández is back on the scoresheet, his seventh goal in all competitions this season. The Frenchman opened the scoring at the San Paolo in the 2-2 draw. It was a true Hernández-style goal, with the French full-back joining the attack and producing a clinical finish. It was a goal that helped secure him the MVP award for Napoli v Milan. He picked up 49% of the votes, ahead of Kessie (27%), Bennacer (17%) and Bonaventura (7%).
Theo gave us power and energy with his volley to make it 1-0, leaving Ospina with no chance. He scored early, in the 20th minute, but continued to cover great distance down the wing. Hernández played the full 90 minutes and scored with his only shot on goal. Furthermore, he had the highest amount of touches of any AC Milan player (97), put in more crosses (two) and was even fouled the most (two). After the final whistle, he received high praise from coach Pioli: “He’s a world-class player. He needs to improve the defensive side of his game, but he dealt with Callejon well. ”
