A busy, intense month, packed with important moments. A month of victories and strong responses, like those shown after every setback or slip-up. But also one of consistency and confirmation, as we'll see. It was a memorable October for the Rossoneri, a month that came to a spectacular close with a derby full of unforgettable emotions. The season goes on, and November will be just as demanding in terms of fixtures, but we can take a moment to decide who was the Emirates Player of the Month for the month just gone.
It is impossible not to start with Diego Moreira, who, after winning the award in September, strengthened his case with a sensational performance in the derby. One goal and two assists, playing a part in all three goals in the 240th official meeting with Inter, a fixture that will go down in the record books. It was one of the finest individual performances seen in a Rossoneri shirt in recent years, delivered by a player who has already firmly captured the hearts of the fans.
October was also the month of Alphadjo Cisse. First and foremost because of his goals: five in total, including a hat-trick against Salzburg and a less fortunate brace against Bologna. At the time of writing, Alfa is AC Milan's leading goalscorer across all competitions this season. His immediate impact has been remarkable and, in some ways, unexpected from a young player who arrived without much fanfare but quickly won everyone over with his attitude, desire and, of course, footballing ability.
It was also an important month for Christian Pulisic, who chose to commit his future to AC Milan until 2031 in October by signing a new contract. Two goals - against Udinese and Inter - both spectacular and significant, alongside a series of high-level performances that helped the team stay on course despite several injury-related absences. In these matches, our number 11 also demonstrated his tactical versatility, performing effectively in a number of different positions across the pitch.
Completing the quartet of nominees, the same four players who were also nominated in September, is another derby goalscorer, Adrien Rabiot. He is becoming increasingly important in the Rossoneri midfield and increasingly influential in the attacking third. His goal to make it 2-0 against Inter came on top of those scored against Sassuolo and Atalanta, taking his tally to five so far this season. That is just one fewer than he managed in his excellent first season in an AC Milan shirt, which says plenty about the level the Frenchman is reaching.
