Never a question about it. With more than 80% of the fans’ votes, Zlatan Ibrahimović is our MVP from last night’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo. Two goals which take him up to a total of eight for the season, seven of which have come in Serie A. His brace against the Neroverdi marked Zlatan’s first two goals from open play since football’s return, these goals slotting in alongside the two penalties converted against Lazio and Juventus. A total performance, contributing not just through goals but also through so much hard work put in for the team.
Ibra’s key role at the centre of this side is becoming clearer and clearer of late, something demonstrated by his 74 touches over the course of the game, more than any other Rossoneri player and fewer only than Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli out of all the players on the pitch. For just the second time since his return after injury, he played out the full 90 minutes, further evidence of his physical fitness which is constantly on the rise. A leader both in his football and in his character, AC Milan have been in flying form recently, with Zlatan right in the cockpit: our much-deserved MVP from yesterday night.
