He scored his tenth goal of the season, a historic achievement for the Ivorian. And once again, he produced a strong and authoritative display in midfield. For the Rossoneri fans, Franck Kessie was the best performer in Parma v AC Milan, with the Diavolo running out 3-1 winners and picking up three vital points in the race to qualify for the Champions League.
It’s the eighth time the Ivorian has picked up the MVP award this season and the sixth time he’s done so in the league. He truly is enjoying an excellent season. In making it 2-0, Franck became the fifth non-Italian midfielder to score at least ten goals for AC Milan in a single top-flight campaign, with Kaká, Leonardo, Nils Liedholm and Gunnar Gren having previously done this. Kessie received 66% of the vote share, thus finishing ahead of Rebić, Bennacer and Saelemaekers.
He didn’t just find the net, however: the Ivorian made 45 successful passes (along with Bennacer, the highest total) and nine recoveries (only Tomori did better with ten), while he also had 64 touches (only Hernández had more with 67). It was a high-quality display in both phases from a hugely important figure in an AC Milan side that continues to chase Champions League qualification.
