During a difficult and lacklustre half for the Rossoneri, Tonali stood tall. A strong performance was needed and Sandro’s was very much steely, earning the appreciation of the crowd at San Siro. “Uno di noi” (“one of us”) was what the Curva Sud sang as he left the pitch in the second half of AC Milan v Porto. And now our supporters have voted him as the best Rossoneri performer during the 1-1 draw on matchday four in Group B of the Champions League. He picked up 36% of the vote share, thus finishing ahead of Kalulu, Tătărușanu and Tomori.
A few numbers from his game against Porto: 42 touches, 25 successful passes, seven recoveries, one tackle won, one good long ball and one shot off target. He’s doing well and feeling confident, as he’s frequently shown in the league and now also in Europe’s most prestigious competition. Sandro is doing a lot of running, making great strides forward and is a highly reliable asset for Pioli and the team. Well done!
