A titan. Ismaël Bennacer bossed the midfield in Napoli v AC Milan. At every moment, the Algerian gave his absolute all, producing an almost perfect display that was appreciated by the Rossoneri fans, who voted him as the team’s best performer via the AC Milan Official App. It was a close-run thing, with Isma just finishing ahead of Giroud (37% vs. 36%). During the Rossoneri’s 1-0 win, he put in a huge shift, with his work also being recognised by Coach Pioli.
Bennacer is enjoying a great run of form and now performing at a consistently high level. It’s no coincidence that this is his second consecutive MVP award after the Derby showdown in the Coppa Italia. Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Stadio Maradona, the Rossoneri No.4 achieved some excellent numbers: he was the AC Milan player who played the most successful passes (38, along with Hernández and Tomori), had the highest success rate in terms of dribbles (68%) and made the most interceptions (two). He also made five recoveries, produced two good long balls and won one tackle. Well done, Isma!
