MVP FOR AUGUST: ISMAËL BENNACER

Ismaël Bennacer started where he left off. The Algerian midfielder has won the first MVP of the month award of the season, for the games in August: four high-level performances (331' on the pitch out of a possible of 360'), topped of course by the decisive goal scored in Bergamo, for the draw against Atalanta, which was also a decisive factor in his nomination for the monthly award.

Last season Isma was chosen as the fans' MVP of the month three times, in October, March and April, a series of awards that show his role in the extraordinary season experienced by Pioli's team.

If they say that 'he who starts well is half-way there', Bennacer's season is certainly off on the right track: in a position with so many new additions, being able to count on a player such as the Rossoneri's number 4 - often in tandem with Sandro Tonali - is very important for Stefano Pioli in drawing up the Rossoneri's tactical approach.

Bennacer edged out the other Rossoneri chosen as MVPs of the other August matches: Mike Maignan for Sassuolo v AC Milan, Charles De Ketelaere for AC Milan v Bologna and Ante Rebić, the great star of AC Milan v Udinese. Bravo Isma!
