Rafael Leão shined in the derby last night after a dazzling performance and is unquestionably the game's MVP; it couldn't really have been anyone else. On his 100th Serie A appearance, he found the net against Inter for the first time in his career, grabbing a precious double, to give AC Milan a thoroughly deserved victory. In the 3-2 win at San Siro, Rafa was a nightmare all evening for the Nerazzurri defence, who struggled to contain the 23-year-old, and last season's Serie A MVP. When he plays like this, he is on another level.
Leão becomes the first-ever Portuguese to score in the derby, in all competitions, and is the sixth youngest (23 years, 85 days) to get more than one, in the same game, against Inter in Serie A. His great form is also highlighted by his recent stats, including games from the end of last season, where he has been involved in twelve goals (six goals and six assist) in his last eleven Serie A games. And last night, his performance was by far the best of them all.
