His second Serie A goal this campaign may well turn out to be a highly precious one. Alexis Saelemaekers continued his impressive, recent form with a crucial goal at the Olimpico in Rome. For this reason, the Belgian deservedly picked up the MVP award from Roma v AC Milan, finishing well ahead of Leão and Krunić.

After grabbing his first goal of the season at Napoli's Maradona - the final one in the 4-0 success - Alexis found the net six minutes into injury-time at the Olimpico to salvage a point, in a game that was looking increasingly like an undeserved defeat for the visitors: Rafa's cross in and a right-footed volley at the back post. The midfielder did excellently to follow the flight of the ball, believe, and then execute.

Coming on in the second half, he had a notable impact on the game, with his first chance coming when the scoreline was still 0-0: a right-footed effort that flew just over the bar. Then, the perfect reward with a strike that earned his side a draw, after displaying real spirit and a strong mentality.

The number 56's 34 minutes on the pitch included eight successful passes, two successful dribbles, two shots on target and one goal. Considering all competitions, it is his fourth goal of the campaign, after grabbing two in the Champions League. A deserved round of applause for Alexis, who is Roma v AC Milan's MVP.
