LEÃO IS THE MVP FROM AC MILAN v HELLAS VERONA

How to finish off in style? Rafael Leão is your answer. Just a few days after extending his stay in Milan, he scored to make it 2-1 and then got his side's third goal of the game, contributing to victory over Hellas Verona at San Siro on matchday 38 in Serie A.

They were two magic moments on a special evening, enrichened further by being voted the best player on the pitch by our fans through the AC Milan Official App. Leão collected more than 90% of the vote, ahead of Tonali and Giroud.

The Portuguese player has had a very strong season, ending with 16 goals and 15 assists in total; it's been a year of improvement, maturity and good football. Rafa hasn't won the MVP since the Lecce game in April, another game where he bagged a brace. His numbers from last night's game are impressive, all following a pattern of two, just like his goals: the much loved and lethal dribbling runs forward, or his shots at goal and those saved; the number of crosses made, or tackles won, while he did 20 successful passes and three positivie dribbles.

Not a bad way to remember the last day of the season, and with the knowledge that the future of AC Milan is in good hands thanks (also) to Leão. A round of applause!
