You never forget a first, especially when it comes with an MVP award. Rossoneri supporters voted Gonçalo Ramos their MVP in AC Milan 2-0 Venezia, a result that made it two wins from two in the 2026/27 Serie A campaign. The Portuguese forward took centre stage by scoring his first goal at San Siro.
It was a superb finish, too, breaking the deadlock 24 minutes into the second half. After latching onto Alexis Saelemaekers' no-look through ball, our number 9 fired a powerful left-footed strike past Stanković, who had been faultless until then, in front of the Curva Sud. Ramos had already found the net in the friendly against Manchester United in Wrocław, and the hope is that this will be the first of many competitive goals.
Before opening the scoring, Ramos' performance had been characterised by hard work and selflessness. He regularly dropped into midfield to link the play and even help initiate AC Milan's attacks. Any missed chances were quickly forgotten. When it counted, Gonçalo became "Goal-çalo", sending a packed San Siro wild.
Ramos' performance was also notable for his many lay-offs - eight of AC Milan's 22 - and the duels he contested: 19 in all, nine of them aerial. The Portuguese striker is already playing a full part in this AC Milan side. He earned his first MVP award by finishing ahead of Alexis Saelemaekers and Mario Gila in the voting on the AC Milan Official App: parabéns, Gonçalo!
