A season that Mike probably imagined differently. The long absence from September to the end of February kept him out of action, away from competition and from the fans, but it didn't undermine his charisma and his drive. Maignan returned to the XI for AC Milan v Atalanta on 26 February, just in time to be decisive in his own way in the season’s final stretch. His save from Kane in London sealed the passage to the quarter-finals, his penalty save in Naples helped achieve qualification for the semi-finals. Memorable saves, made by a champion who today celebrates 28 years of age and, after commitments with the French national team, is preparing for a new season as a key player.
