From the euphoria of the Derby to the Europa League. The Rossoneri return to San Siro for a crucial clash with Ferencváros, kicking off at 6:45 PM CET on Matchday 4 of the European competition. Having lost two of their first three matches, AC Milan faces an important test. The fixture comes just days after the victory over Inter, a result that should provide both motivation and a blueprint for building on that success. With kickoff approaching, let's take a closer look at the match in our Preview:
LATEST FROM MILANELLO
Changes to the Rossoneri's starting lineup are expected after a demanding run of fixtures. Head Coach Amorim made his priorities clear: "It doesn't matter who plays. We want to get a result." Alongside long-term absentees Saelemaekers, Gabbia, Tomori, Loftus-Cheek, P. Terracciano and Chukwueze, who recently underwent surgery, Mike Maignan is suspended following his red card against Bournemouth. Lorenzo Torriani is therefore likely to make his first start, with further changes expected across the team. As Amorim emphasized in his press conference, the key will be to approach the match with the same humility shown against Inter.
Amorim said ahead of the match: "The Derby is behind us. We need to focus on the Europa League. We have three points in this competition, and we absolutely have to win. They're coming to San Siro with nothing to lose, so the responsibility is on us. I've already told the players that we need to show the same humility in our approach as we did in the Derby. We're capable of winning or losing any match. It's up to us."
LATEST FROM FERENCVÁROS
A 36-time Hungarian champion with a perfect record in this competition, Ferencváros arrives at San Siro in excellent form, having won four straight matches and gone 20 unbeaten. Under head coach Balázs Borbély, who took charge this season, the team plays in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with 31-year-old Adam Nagy, who previously played in Serie A for Bologna, Pisa and Spezia, anchoring the midfield. Norwegian attacking midfielder Zachariassen is the team's top scorer this season with 11 goals, followed closely by Nigerian forward Yusuf with nine.
Borbély: "It's hard to predict how Milan will approach the game, but we're ready for anything and we've got plenty of confidence. Our European campaign has been great so far, but Milan is a whole different level - we'll need to play with discipline and quality."
