AC Milan lost 2-0 to Ferencváros at San Siro on Matchday 4 of the UEFA Europa League, with Joseph scoring both goals (52’, 66’). It was a frustrating night for the Rossoneri, who couldn’t build on their derby win and remain on three points in the standings after four League Phase games. Amorim’s side will need to add to that tally to reach the knockouts, starting with the trip to Greece to face Olympiacos.
With Rabiot wearing the captain’s armband and Torriani making his first start in place of the suspended Maignan, the Rossoneri worked hard but never took control of the game. A late push at San Siro produced chances but no goals. The team will need to be more clinical to climb the standings and turn its European campaign around. Next up is a trip to Genoa on Matchday 11 of Serie A, a chance to bounce back in the final game before the international break.

MATCH REPORT
The game got off to a slow start at San Siro, with Torriani making an early save from Joseph’s right-footed shot (4’). The young goalkeeper held Zachariassen’s effort from a tight angle (17’) and came to the rescue again when Joseph pounced on a loose ball as AC Milan tried to play out from the back. Torriani narrowed the angle and denied him one-on-one (26’). AC Milan struggled to find a rhythm, and its first chance fell to Cisse. Ramos headed Terracciano’s cross from the right into his path, but Alfa fired over with his left foot from the center of the box. Torriani turned another close-range effort from Joseph behind for a corner (40’), and Ramos missed the target from the edge of the box a minute later. It was 0-0 at halftime.
Amorim made three changes at the break, bringing on Moreira, Gila, and Pulisic. Hutchinson shot wide (48’), and Ferencváros took the lead soon after (52’). Zachariassen pressed Torriani after a back pass from De Winter and won the ball, leaving Joseph to tap into an empty net. The Rossoneri tried to respond immediately: Ramos played Hutchinson through, and his shot skimmed the far post. AC Milan kept pushing, but a ricochet in midfield sparked a Ferencváros counterattack, with Zachariassen setting up Joseph again to make it 2-0 (66’). Camarda couldn’t steer Moreira’s low cross on target, while Torriani kept out Zachariassen at the other end. The visitors went down to ten men when Yusuf was shown a straight red card for catching Gila with an elbow off the ball (77’). AC Milan looked to make the most of the extra man, but Hutchinson’s efforts were kept out, and Moreira fired just over from distance (83’). It finished 2-0 to Ferencváros.
