November got off to a losing start for AC Milan, who were beaten 1-0 by Como Women in the match that brought Sunday's Serie A Women action to a close. The deciding goal in matchday five came early in the second half, when Virginia Bernardi produced a fine finish to reward the greater clinical edge of the Lariani. The Rossonere, meanwhile, were unable to make their late surge count, despite finishing strongly and coming close through Nerea Nevado, whose effort struck the junction of the post and crossbar. It would have been one of the goals of the year. The substitutes also made a positive contribution during the closing stages.
The Rossonere missed the chance to build on their recent home form at the PUMA House of Football, where they had won their last three matches across the league and Women's Cup, and to pick up their first away points of the season. Those points would have been deserved given the overall performance in a closely contested and hard-fought match. However, the fixture list offers a great opportunity to bounce back: on Saturday, November 7, at 15:00, we will take part in the first derby of the season. And it will be on our home turf. Tickets are already on sale, we look forward to seeing you there!

MATCH REPORT
The Rossonere started on the front foot, pushing forward and keeping a high line, but the first chance fell to the hosts, with Zamboni firing a right-footed effort wide in the 4th minute. After the first 15 minutes, Bakker's side began to find their rhythm. Their best opportunity came in the 21st minute, when Park tried her luck with a right-footed shot that went narrowly over the crossbar. Estévez was not caught out by Nischler in the 26th minute, while in the 30th, Grimshaw's knockdown found Sesay, whose volley on the turn was dealt with by Gilardi as she came off her line. The match then entered a quiet spell, with few chances for either side, before both teams threatened again towards the end of the first half. However, neither Nischler's long-range effort in the 42nd minute nor Nevado's 25-metre free kick deep into stoppage time could change the score before the break.
The teams returned without any changes, and Simonetti had a good opportunity in the 48th minute, curling a right-footed shot that forced Estévez into an excellent save. The Rossonere struggled to build attacking momentum, and Como Women took the lead in the 54th minute. Bernardi received the ball inside the box, turned sharply in a tight space and unleashed a right-footed shot that gave our number one no chance. Coach Bakker looked to add more attacking threat by bringing on Brighton, Kanutte and Kyvåg, and as the minutes passed, the Rossonere began to push forward with greater purpose. Koivisto tried her luck in the 65th minute, followed by Stokić in the 73rd, but neither could find the target. Gilardi saved Sesay's curling effort in the 77th minute, while Kanutte's attempt in the 79th also came to nothing. The biggest chance, however, came in the 80th minute, when Nevado struck a powerful left-footed volley that crashed against the junction of the post and crossbar. The Rossonere threw everything forward in the closing stages, but the score remained unchanged even after six minutes of stoppage time. The match finished 1-0.
POST-MATCH STATEMENT
"We finished strongly, but we were also competitive during the first 65 minutes," began Suzanne Bakker in her post-match analysis. "They were more clinical, scoring with their first shot on target. We play with the belief that we can always score one or two goals. We are in good physical shape, but we need to - and can - do better. We will work hard this week to prepare as well as possible for the derby, which is always a special match. We will analyse what happened today so we can learn and improve."
