VIRTUS CISERANO BERGAMO v MILAN FUTURO: MATCH PREVIEW

It's the start of a new month for the unbeaten Milan Futuro after the opening rounds of the league and Cup games. The young Rossoneri are set to travel to the province of Bergamo to face Virtus Ciserano, an experienced team in the division. As matchday six of Serie D approaches, here's our Match Preview.

Spurred on by the confidence gained from their recent fixtures, the Rossoneri look to their first match of October optimistically. This game falls before the obligatory break due to absences from players who have been called up for international duty. This has caused the match originally scheduled for next week against Varesina (Coppa Italia) to be postponed to Wednesday 29 at 14:30 CET, and Breno (date tbc). There are no players on red or yellow cards, allowing Coach Oddo to make his decisions only influenced by injuries like Bonomi and Traorè, who are unavailable, and by international commitments like Emanuele Sala, representing Italy at the Under-20 World Cup in Chile. Notably, Matteo Geroli signed his first professional contract this week. 

"We are a young team, but we also have experience and a passion to play," said captain Matteo Duțu this week. "A great team is being formed, and I'm really happy that I get along well with everyone. At AC Milan, I feel almost like I'm at home, and I hope it continues like this."

Coming off an eleventh-place finish last season, the side from Bergamo has undergone significant changes. From the new head coach (Nicola Valente) to various new additions to the squad, the most notable is captain Matteo Lucenti, a midfielder with experience, formerly in Serie C, and a player who came through Cremonese's youth ranks. It is also worth mentioning the 38-year-old forward Ferrario, who is the product of the Rossoneri youth system but hasn't featured in recent matches. Virtus Ciserano typically lines up in a 4-3-3 formation and so far they've had a perfect journey in the Cup (two 1-0 wins over Scanzorosciate and Villa Valle) and accumulated six points in five league matches, including a 2-0 win over Scanzorosciate, a 0-1 defeat at Chievo, and three 1-1 draws against Casatese, Leon, and Caldiero in the most recent round. There are no players on red or yellow cards.

The referee team will be from Sardinia for the game against Ciserano: the match will be officiated by Salvatore Fresu (Sassari), assisted by linesmen Pisu (Oristanio) and Piras (Olbia).

Matchday 6 of Serie D Group B is set for Saturday 4 October, with the early 20:30 fixture between ChievoVerona and Caldiero Terme.
