MILAN FUTURO ELIMINATED FROM THE COPPA ITALIA

Milan Futuro have been eliminated from the Coppa Italia Serie D. The Rossoneri fell to a comeback from Varesina in the round of 64, losing 2-3. In Solbiate Arno, the tie was decided by goals from Testa, Costantino and Vaz. In the cup, Coach Oddo's side previously beat Trevigliese 2-0 and Gozzano 1-0 in August, but this loss forces them out of the competition, interrupting a good moment for the team after their important win over Carate Brianza in the league.

There's no shortage of regret, given that the Rossoneri went ahead twice before being pegged back and then overtaken midway through the second half. The setback proves costly, but it is one that serves as a lesson to improve and grow. This coming weekend, Sunday 2 November at 14:30 CET, Milan Futuro will be at home to take on Oltrepò on Serie D matchday 10. This will be a key test during a difficult moment in the season, offering the team a chance to move closer to the upper echelons of the table.

MATCH REPORT
The Rossoneri started well in attack. The side got the lead in the 15th minute: Ossola played the ball square to Castiello who stopped and scored. We continued pressing in the hope of a second goal. Magrassi's effort in the 21st minute and Ossola's in the 26th minute were both denied by Maddalon. Varesina did not prove too much of a threat but when they did, they scored: in the 42nd minute, Testa struck to make it 1-1.

The second half began and the Rossoneri found a nearly instant lead: Borsani's cross was converted by Magrassi in the 53rd minute. There was no time to celebrate as Varesina equalised in the 57th minute through Costantino. On the hour mark, Maddalon made a brilliant save to deny Cappelletti. The final blow came in the 66th minute as Vaz scored to complete the comeback: a deflected shot from a set-piece build up. The Diavolo could not go on to respond.
