PIOLI: "UNITED IN GETTING BACK BEING COMPETITIVE"

On the eve of a new league fixture at San Siro, Coach Pioli held his press conference at Milanello ahead of matchday 14 in Serie A that sees AC Milan face Frosinone on Saturday 2 December at 20:45 CET. Important comments ahead of the game in a delicate moment for the team: 

AHEAD OF AC MILAN V FROSINONE
"We'll have to give a high-level performance. Frosinone are doing very well and have confidence, Di Francesco is doing a great job. They are aggressive but we know how to cause them problems; we'll have try and get a numerical advantage when building our plays. We want to win, and we need to. We need points, the league campaign is long. As usual, we'll need to show concentration, determination and quality: we need to show we are still competitive and put in a good performance."

THE SQUAD
"There are still 25 league games to play. I told the players not to come in on Thursday to Milanello if they didn't believe we could reach Inter and Juventus. In the Champions League, we have a slight chance stilll, and we'll give everything at Newcastle. I saw a team that believed, I want to put all my energies into motivating the group. The group have stayed tight in difficult moments, and this aspect is a huge thing to have in our armour. We haven't been able to do much work on the training field the last few days, but our ideas are clear on how we want to play. Games can change from how you expect them to play out, but we definitely need to improve the reading of certain moments."

MEETING WITH CARDINALE
"It was a very positive meeting and, above all, constructive. Myself and the squad now have even more motivation."

INJURY CRISIS
"The situation should improve in the coming weeks, especially in attack, with the emergency coming to an end soon. We'll do everything we can in our power to get Leão fit for Atalanta. At the back it's a bit more complicated because also Thiaw is a long-term thing. We should have Kjær back though for the next game."

YOUTH
"Simić has been working with us since the summer; he's a strong defender and he looks relaxed. But I won't say if he'll play or not. We're helping his pursue his development in the same way we are with Camarda, who ahsn't changed his attitude one bit since making his debut."
