MODRIĆ: "I CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED"

It's a new week for the Rossoneri, one that begins with an important date: at Casa Milan, Luka Modrić gave his presentation presser.

CONNECTION WITH AC MILAN
"I grew up watching Italian football, and my favourite Italian team has always been Milan. My idol in that team was Zvonimir Boban. I've always had a special connection with AC Milan."

OBJECTIVES
"I have positive feelings about the upcoming season. Last year, AC Milan produced a top-level performance at the Bernabéu, and we need to find a way to return to that level and maintain it for as long as possible. AC Milan are one of the best teams in the world. This Club has won the Champions League seven times, and there can be no settling for a mediocre season. We must work hard to take AC Milan to the highest possible level. I enjoy winning and I'm competitive - that's what I want to bring to this team. The minimum target is qualification for the next Champions League, but we must also push to win trophies. That's my aim."

WHAT HE WILL BRING TO AC MILAN
"I feel lucky to be here and want to contribute with my passion, humility, work ethic and grounded nature. I'll bring my experience to AC Milan and give my all to continue doing what I’ve always done throughout my career. There are big expectations on me, but I'm ready for them and can't wait to get started on this challenge."

THE GROUP
"I've seen many positive aspects in the pre-season friendlies. There are so many champions, and I can't wait to start training with them. I've seen a strong team and a fantastic atmosphere within the group, which is very important. One player alone can’t decide a match: you have to build a team where individuals can perform at their best."

MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI
"The Coach probably doesn't have fond memories of me or the Champions League final where I beat him, but that's in the past. Now, I'm looking forward to getting to know him, and I'm happy to be coached by one of the best coaches in the world. He's a true winner."

ROLE
"I think everyone knows I prefer to play in midfield, dictating the tempo and keeping the team moving. I still need to speak with the Coach to understand where he wants to play me, and from there I'll just have to work hard and give everything. I think I can take on different midfield duties because, to me, the most important thing is the team, and I’ll do whatever the Coach asks of me."

EASY DECISION
"It was an easy choice: Director Tare called me and then came to Croatia, showing how much he wanted to have me at AC Milan."
