AC Milan went away to Empoli and recorded a big 3-0 win - their seventh league victory away from home this season - over the Tuscan outfit, though the Rossonere are still five points behind second-place Roma. It was a convincing win for Ganz's girls, who built upon the victory over Fiorentina, as we go into the final international break of the season.
On the scoresheet, we had Valentina Bergamaschi - goal number 5 of the season, her best-ever record - and Lindsey Thomas, who bagged a brace and is now AC Milan's top goalscorer in Serie A this season. There were noteworthy performances all-around at the back (especially from Árnadóttir) and our backline did brilliantly to nullify every one of the hosts' forward moves. After the break, on the weekend of 23/24 April, the Rossonere host Pomigliano at Vismara before a tough run-in in May against Inter and Juventus.

REPORT
The Rossonere were kitted out in our new fourth kit and had Martina Piemonte back in the starting XI. The first chance of the game fell to the hosts and Bragonzi (2') but AC Milan then took the lead swiftly after (4'). Agard swung in the cross from the right, the Empoli defence failed to get it clear and Bergamaschi fired it home with an acrobatic finish. After the early goal, Ganz's team were able to dictate the tempo of the game and shut down any efforts from the Azzurre to get on the front foot. The Rossonere then doubled their lead in the 17th minute through Thomas. Guagni crossed in towards Grimshaw, who laid it off beautifully for Lindsey to stick it into an empty net. AC Milan didn't sit back but the remainder of the first half passed by without too much action, save for an attempt from Thomas, which Grimshaw deflected into the arms of Capelletti.
The Rossonere kept up the intensity in the second half against an Empoli side that struggled to create any clear chances. AC Milan then wrapped it up in the 55th minute as Lindsey Thomas bagged her brace - her third in all competitions for the Club, finishing from an inch-perfect cross from Tucceri Cimini. Linda then went close to scoring herself, firing wide after driving into the area (74'). Boureille came off the bench to great effect as she came close on more than one occasion; Empoli also had a late opportunity but Morreale's effort was dealt with by Giuliani. It ended 3-0.
