TOMORI: "BIG TEST AGAINST JUVE"

It's the day before Juventus v AC Milan, the Rossoneri's second game in the Soccer Champions Tou 2023. From the team hotel, Fikayo Tomori gave a press conference. Here's what he had to say:

THE ARRIVAL OF PULISIC
"I spoke to Chris a lot before he joined and I'm really happy he's here with us now. He's played in the Bundesliga and the Premier League; he knows this is a very different league in terms of tactics and attention to detail. I hope and know that he will have a great season with us. He's a difference-maker."

THE TEAM
"We know that we're a strong side but we're also aware of the aspects that need improvement. We have a lot of new players and, at least at the start, it's not easy to build those relationships. As I said, we know our qualities and we feel that we're a strong team. We're AC Milan and we want to win again because last season wasn't what we wanted."

LEADERSHIP
"I've always been communicative. As a centre-back, I need to talk a lot to my teammates because I can see the whole pitch. This team has a lot of leaders; Calabria and Theo are the captains, Oli gets us fired up, Mike is a great pro, always on it and focused on the game. I'm trying to help the new guys integrate into this family just like I was helped at the beginning."

THE GAME AGAINST REAL MADRID
"We lost but there were some good things, especially in the first half in which we scored twice and created a lot of opportunities. We weren't at the same level in the second half but it was positive overall. We were playing against a top team in Real Madrid." 

JUVENTUS
"They have a strong forward line and always present a tough test. Whether it's a friendly or a competitive match, we want to win. We can't be at full fitness yet but we're not far off it. I've scored twice against Juve in Serie A and I'd like to do it again. We want to play well and we'll try to learn from the mistakes we made against Real."

RAFA'S MATURITY
"Rafa is becoming a leader. We all know his importance on the pitch and within the group. I'm pleased to watch him grow and mature; I hope that this is reflected even more on the pitch." 

DEFENCE
"Our department has changed less than others but, as we always say, we defend as a whole team. It's important to build relationships as defenders because our job is so vital. We have quality and we want to do better than last season."

THE AC MILAN SUMMER TOUR
"We're enjoying it out here. I like Los Angeles quite a lot; I was here with my friends this summer. When I found out that we'd be coming on tour here, I was really happy. Training is going well but we get better answers on the pitch; these are crucial tests for us."
