Matteo Gabbia joins the icons of the derby with a brilliant goal to make it Inter 1-2 AC Milan and seal us a fantastic win. Time will tell if the number 46's header will be remembered like other brilliant goals against the Nerazzurri.
For now, in the present, Matteo has won himself a very well-deserved award for being the best on the pitch: the Rossoneri fans have cast their votes on the AC Milan Official App, voting him above the other two stars of the night at San Siro, Christian Pulisic and Tijjani Reijnders. This was Gabbia's fifth goal for the Rossoneri, undoubtedly the most memorable.
However, it would be wrong to say that the recognition came for the last-minute winner alone, despite its importance. For example, in the second half, Matteo had already made two huge interventions in defence, they may not end up in the highlights reel, but they were fundamental for our game.
This is all topped off by the excellent work at the back, shared with teammate Tomori. Across the game, Gabbia made two interceptions and 39 accurate passes, but the magic number is definitely three: just like the points won thanks to his fantastic goal. Well done, Matteo!
