In a thrilling night at San Siro, AC Milan drew 2-2 against Fiorentina and Mike Maignan showed himself to be the best man out there. The Rossoneri goalkeeper played a crucial role in keeping the side in the game with some huge saves that kept out the opposition. His performance was fundamental for the draw, showing once again his importance to the side.
Maignan made a string of vital saves - seven to be exact, keeping AC Milan in it. He did well to read the game and employ his reflexes at various points, especially when faced with Kean but also Guðmundsson and Beltrán. His leadership and solidity between the sticks gave the side substance and efficiency, allowing the Rossoneri to push on for the draw.
The statistics speak for themselves: seven saves and a constant presence which sured up our defence. Despite conceding twice, the Frenchman's work was crucial in avoiding defeat. His ability to manage under pressure and guide the backline was clear from start to end, confirming his role as a leader (and not only) on the pitch.
