AT THE BREAK: A START FULL OF POSITIVES

The first 450 minutes of the 2026/27 Serie A season are behind us, with a lengthy international break now ahead: giving us time to take a first look at the Rossoneri's season. Just over two months have passed since the squad returned for pre-season on July 13th, and plenty has changed during that time. From a new Head Coach to several important players arriving at Milanello and immediately establishing themselves as key figures, from a return to European competition to the desire to bounce back after the disappointing end to last season. AC Milan heads into this unusual September-October break unbeaten in the league, having followed draws away to Juventus and Lazio with victories over Torino, Venezia and Lecce.

The only setback came in the Europa League against Benfica, but the format of the competition means we will have several opportunities to bounce back, climb the table and aim for the best possible position in the race to reach the knockout stage. Overall, however, the glass is undoubtedly half-full: the Rossoneri have shown some impressive patterns of play, demonstrating the quality of the work being done every day in training and their willingness to take on board the coach’s instructions. This AC Milan side wants to be a positive and hard-working team, capable of creating chances while also knowing how to manage difficult periods.

Several players have caught the eye at the start of the season. Let’s begin with two new faces who have already scored more than once: Diego Moreira is our top scorer during this early stage of the season, having followed up his quick-fire brace at the Olimpico with the goal that sealed the 3-0 victory over Lecce. The Belgian winger has already surpassed his tally from his first season with Strasbourg (he scored seven goals in total across his two years in France). Alphadjo Cisse has scored twice, both goals coming in Turin: fine finishes that carried considerable weight against Torino and Juventus.

Adrien Rabiot, meanwhile, is continuing last season’s good form. Fresh from an excellent World Cup with France, our number 12 has made a big impact on several occasions and has shown great versatility, operating both in midfield and in the line of attacking midfielders behind Ramos. Among those who have not scored, established players such as Chukwueze, De Winter and Pavlović deserve a mention, as does new arrival Mario Gila, already a fan favourite, and a returning player: Yunus Musah, who has impressed with his versatility and commitment in the Rossonero midfield. We’ll finish with Rúben Amorim, who has become the third foreign coach in our history to remain unbeaten in his first five Serie A matches in charge of AC Milan (after Carniglia and Liedholm): a confidence boost ahead of a return to action that will see us take to the pitch every three days for an entire month.
