MILAN FUTURO COME FROM BEHIND TO DRAW WITH CARPI

Camarda's penalty cancels out Zagnoni's opener in Busto Arsizio

A historic point that will do the team good and help the players grow. At the Stadio Speroni in Busto Arsizio, the match between Milan Futuro and Carpi finished 1-1, with a Camarda penalty cancelling out Zagnoni’s first-half opener for the visitors. The Rossoneri have thus scored their first goal and picked up their first point in Serie C after a game where they perhaps deserved all three. There are plenty of positives to take from this second match, with the team showing signs of clear improvement after the opening day defeat to Virtus Entella. Notably, Silvano Vos made his debut and immediately made a big impression, taking centre stage in the move that led to Camarda winning and converting from the spot.

Francesco remained composed from twelve yards out to score his first goal in Serie C and third of the season after his brace against Novara. After falling behind, Coach Bonera’s lads put plenty of moves together, created several chances and deservedly got back on level terms. In the closing stages, both Jiménez and Cuenca had huge chances to win it, but the result doesn’t take anything away from the team’s performance. We’re on the right track.

MATCH REPORT
At the Speroni, the Rossoneri started on the front foot in their first home match of the season. Cuenca immediately made ground but fired over from just over 25 yards out, while Sorzi punched away a dangerous Jiménez cross shortly afterwards. In the tenth minute, Traorè, Cuenca and Camarda were involved in a nice counter-attacking move, but the final ball from the No.9 for Hugo was slightly too long. Carpi responded as two big chances fell the way of Saporetti (11’) and Cortesi (15’). In the 17th minute, Zagnoni beat Minotti to the ball and headed past Nava to give the visitors the lead. Milan Futuro tried to regain control of proceedings but lacked the cutting edge they had at the beginning of the game. Indeed, the team’s only noteworthy opportunity for the rest of the half came after a run by Jiménez, with Sorzi almost being caught out by a ricochet.

Bonera made two changes at half time - Vos and Fall both entered the fray - and Sandri fired over with his left foot soon after the restart. Shortly afterwards, after Zeroli and Vos had combined in the area, the ball arrived at the feet of Cuenca, whose shot was too feeble to trouble the goalkeeper. But we were well in the game, and, in the 67th minute, after some fine individual play from Vos, Camarda was brought down in the box, resulting in a penalty. The latter then stepped up to convert and make it 1-1. Having drawn level, Milan Futuro kept on pushing and tried to find a winner. With 75 minutes on the clock, Vos picked out Jiménez, whose first-time right-footed effort was turned behind by Sorzi. Longo came on for the final siege at goal, although we did become slightly stretched and Nava needed to be alert on two occasions. In the 95th minute, Cuenca failed to keep the ball down with his head from close range. It finished in a draw.
