LATEST FROM THE PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
AC Milan heads into Matchday 2 after a 4-1 defeat to Como 1907, a match in which the Rossonere pulled one back in the second half through captain Christy Grimshaw. Bakker's side now returns to the PUMA House of Football, where it is unbeaten in its last five competitive matches, with two wins and three draws. In the Women's Cup meeting in September, the Rossonere created several chances, particularly in the first half. A debut will have to wait for former Juventus player Abi Brighton, who is recovering under the concussion protocol. Giorgia Arrigoni, Leda Gemmi and Sara Stokić are also unavailable.
Suzanne Bakker on the eve of the match: "Last week's result was tough to accept by our standards. Tomorrow, we have the chance to show our reaction where it matters most, on the pitch. Our first Serie A home game is an opportunity to show exactly who we are. We know our quality, we know what we stand for, and we know what it takes: intensity, courage, character and togetherness. In front of our home fans, we're ready to fight and give everything!"
LATEST FROM JUVENTUS
Isaac Guerrero's side opened its league campaign with a 3-1 win over Napoli Women. Juventus also comes into the game off European action, having won 3-0 away to Häcken on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Women's Champions League League Phase. The match winner from September 6th will be missing, however. Portugal international Ana Capeta suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury late in the match against AC Milan. Juventus responded in the transfer market by bringing in Spanish forward Sarriegi, while also adding French player Graziani and Japan international Hayashi in recent weeks. Then, in the last few hours, came the contract renewal of captain Martina Rosucci through June 2028.
"A big match awaits us, a classic," said Isaac Guerrero on the eve of the game. "We already played a very tough, important match against AC Milan in the Women's Cup. They have a very clear style of play, great talent in their squad, and a well-defined identity built on vertical passes and quick transitions. It will be a challenging game, but we will aim to control it by imposing our usual style of play."
