Today, the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti announced the composition of the Serie D 2026/27 groups: 162 teams, split across nine groups, will compete in Italy's top amateur division from September to May. After their developmental 2025/26 campaign that ended in the playoffs against ChievoVerona, Milan Futuro will compete in Group B with teams from Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna. The opening matchday is scheduled for Sunday 6 September, with the squad's first official fixture taking place seven days earlier in the first round of the Serie D Coppa Italia. The format remains the same as last season, with groups consisting of 18 teams. The fixture list will be announced soon, with a total of 34 matchdays set to take place. As in the previous campaign, fixtures will be split between 2026 (first half of the season) and 2027 (second half of the season). The season will once again feature nine teams earning automatic promotion to Serie C, with the winners of each group securing promotion, while four teams from each group will be relegated to Eccellenza.
