VIDEO: DOUBLE SESSION AT MILANELLO

The players were split into two groups for focussed tactical work in training today

Following the players’ return to training yesterday, head coach Giampaolo ramped up preparations for Saturday’s friendly against Cesena with a double training session at Milanello today.

MORNING SESSION

The squad was divided into two groups. The first group started at the gym at 09:30 this morning with a series of muscle activation exercises, before moving to the lowered training pitch for a technical drill in the centre circle. Following completion of this exercise, the group worked on defensive shape and movement. The second group completed a similar programme but their tactical drill had an offensive, as opposed to a defensive, focus.

AFTERNOON SESSION

The squad reconvened at 17:00 on the pitch for an extended warm-up session. Following some technical drills, the players completed slaloms with the ball and some rondos with ever-increasing intensity. To close the session, the squad was split into four smaller teams that competed in a mini tournament on a reduced pitch.

WEDNESDAY 14 AUGUST
The players will meet for an afternoon training session at Milanello tomorrow.
