What a win! AC Milan claimed its first league victory of the season with a thrilling comeback against one of its biggest rivals, Juventus. At the PUMA House of Football, Matchday 2 of Serie A Women ended 2-1 to the Rossonere, with goals from Thea Kyvåg and Monica Renzotti overturning Lenzini's opener. It all happened in the final 15 minutes, sealing a milestone in the history of AC Milan Women as the result marked the team's 100th top-flight victory. It was a win the Rossonere wanted, chased and fully deserved, having already created enough chances to merit the lead before falling behind.
A Mascarello effort off the post from a corner perhaps best summed up the many chances created by Bakker's side across both halves, making Juventus' temporary lead feel especially harsh. AC Milan's response on the pitch was outstanding, not least because of the way it came through the collective effort of the entire team. Starters and substitutes alike played their part in a true team victory that got the Rossonere moving in the table and sent them into the international break on a high. When league action resumes on Sunday, October 18th at 3:00 PM CEST, AC Milan faces the toughest away trip of all, at reigning champion Roma.

MATCH REPORT
A lively start from the opening whistle. In the 6th minute, AC Milan's build-up ended with a through ball for Nevado, whose effort was kept out by Rusek. From the resulting corner, Mascarello hit the post, with the Juventus goalkeeper getting a touch. Stokić and Grimshaw also went close soon after, while Kamczyk tried an acrobatic effort from the edge of the box in the 14th minute after Kanutte's layoff. Estévez was alert to Stølen Gødo's left-footed shot in the 17th minute, before Stokić won the ball high up the pitch three minutes later and drew another low save from Rusek. AC Milan kept up the pressure, and in the 37th minute the Juventus defense first blocked a right-footed effort from Stokić, before Kanutte sent a fine twisting header narrowly wide.
AC Milan made no changes at the break and went close again in the 52nd minute, when Grimshaw forced Rusek into a diving save. Another dangerous corner from Mascarello followed, with the visiting goalkeeper punching clear. Renzotti's right-footed effort in the 63rd minute failed to find a way through, while the Juventus defense blocked shots from Stokić and Grimshaw three minutes later. Juventus took the lead in the 79th minute. Estévez denied Redondo, but Lenzini was first to the rebound and turned it home. After play was briefly stopped following an accidental collision between Soffia and D'Auria, AC Milan suddenly found the equalizer through Kyvåg, who raced through on goal and coolly beat Rusek. That sparked the Rossonere into life, and they completed the comeback on the very next attack as Renzotti curled a stunning left-footed strike beyond the goalkeeper. It made for a tense finish, but the score did not change during eight minutes of stoppage time: it's a win for AC Milan!
POST-MATCH THOUGHTS
"We created a lot, so I'm very happy," Suzanne Bakker began. "We started really strongly in the first 10 minutes. It was a game of different moments. There were spells when they had more of the ball, but we created more. I loved our reaction after their goal, both the fresh energy from the substitutes and the contribution from the players who were already on the pitch. I told the team that we need everyone, and today showed that. I really believe in this group and in our ability to play this way in every match. It was a great result in a fantastic atmosphere, and I want to thank all the fans for coming out." Monica Renzotti also had words of appreciation for the Rossonere supporters: "They gave us so much support, especially the girls and families in the stands. I hope they will be with us again in the next matches because they give us so much strength. Juventus is a tough team, but we managed the game well, showed character and deserved to win. I'm happy to be able to help the team. That's always the goal. I had been looking for that goal for a while, so it was emotional."
